Tetsuo Hara and Buronson's post apocalyptic epic starts the final quarter of the list.
Due to the film being an early release for Manga Entertainment in the UK, and the unique nature of it's violence, FotNS (Hokuto No Ken in Japan) is a name that many are familiar with even if they are not hardcore or even current anime fans.
For those not familiar, FotNS is the story of Kenshiro, a wanderer of a post apocalyptic wasteland who protects the weak and innocent through the use of Hokuto Shinken, a martial art that can destroy an opponent's body in various gruesome ways through the striking of pressure points.
It is, simply put, The Road Warrior + Bruce Lee + David Cronenberg. And I think we can all agree that is a fantastically awesome equation.
Of course even more awesome would be if we could see Kenshiro fighting a giant ghost cat…
The TV series of FotNS has had a half hearted release in English, with Manga Entertainment releasing just 36 episodes of the first series' 109 with messed about music as is their want.
Luckily, Heart of Madness have taken up the challenge of fansubbing the show and have just started on the second series.
