HATE FUN 2000! Love Hina

The second show from 2000 that really got a following via fansubs (Saiyuki being the other).

While it gets a fair amount of justifiable criticism for it’s incredibly derivative nature, when you look at what else was coming out the time, you can see why it stood out and got its following via fansubs (including early digital fansubs). The clean digital look, polished animation and a opening theme that hits you like a fist made of sugar add up to something that stood out from a lot of the other otaku targeted shows of this year.

That said, I gave up after about 8 episodes. There’s only so long you can watch the romantic fumblings of idiots.
