I’m planning to watch the whole thing sometime soon as I remember enjoying the first few episodes. They are however practically telling the exact same story as the one you play through in Star Ocean 2: Second Story (PS1).
The only differnece being that in the game you had to go through the story from the perspective of either Claude or Rena whereas the Anime would appear to be told from both.
