Another show that’ll talk more about over Xmas. A lot of its success lies in the source material, but like the recent Astro Fighter Sunred, the key element is that it just focusses on the job at hand – gags. It gives each gag enough or as little time as they need. With the plot-heavy tendencies of anime shows, people have often compared it to Seinfeld as a show about nothing. These people obviously haven’t really watched Seinfeld. Seinfeld is not a four panel strip adapted into a compilation TV show.

I made the Peanuts to Azumanga comparison once to a friends of mine and he got noticeably angry. I’m glad I’m not the only one to see it.
