Here’s that thrown together thought on running in credits, if only to clear it out my drafts:
As I mentioned Monday, I have a love of animated credits with running in them. And that I believe they are normally a good indication of a decent series/film.
Why this is boils down to one thing:
WALK CYCLES
I think there’s something primal in an animation walk cycle. It’s one of the most basic ways in which an illustration becomes “alive” in animation. By putting walk cycles up front in the credits you are getting a good feel of the personality, mood and style of the show. Moreso than an intricately animated fight scene that the series budget can never hope to match on an episode by episode basis.
And from a solely personal bias, I like animation that is dynamic and movement heavy, so that sense of motion straight out the box presses my buttons and puts me in a good mood to watch a show.
Is there any way you can get those videos back up? Perhaps in the future you could download them as backups and host ’em yourself, just in case.
