It’s slightly weird to think that I Get Wet is over six years old now. I still think that is a near perfect album. Part of the disbelief is down to how poor a follow up The Wolf was. I’ve pretty much wiped most the content of that album from memory. Not so much bad, just crushingly mediocre (see also the last 2 QOTSA albums).
Thankfully 2006’s Close Calls With Brick Walls took the sound where it needed to go and put AWK back on track musically.
