Was this the last Kia Asamiya adaptation? He sort of seemed in demand there in the mid to late nineties, then went to work in the US, and now you don’t hear much about him at all. Is he simply just doing design work under his real name nowadays?
Anyway, this was a sci-fi take on a magical girl show, a direction the genre didn’t really follow. Viz released some of this, but then sort of lost interest. Presumably after the audience had voiced their own similar disinterest by not buying much of the first four volumes.
