There’s a few Urusei Yatsura related posts I’ve been meaning to make and haven’t got round to. Here’s a music video by a twee guitar pop peddler whose name means next to nothing in the UK, Matthew Sweet. He also had another video that used clips from Space Adventure Cobra. I almost didn’t post this as back in the day this seemed like fairly common knowledge, but it’s now 2009, the song is 18 years old and so this may be news to a fair amount of folks nowadays.
I imagine this was the 1991 equivalent of when Barenaked Ladies mentioned Sailor Moon in a song that one time. Or when Steve Albini named his band Rapeman (doesn’t Big Black’s “Songs About Fucking” use art from Rapeman on it’s cover too?).
