A couple of stories now with a couple of similarities – they both feature women who actually seem to fall for Ataru’s dubious charms and they both have the same punchline.
—
While Ataru’s parents are away on holiday, Ataru, Shinobu, Ten and the Stormtroopers find a portal in his closet. It drags them to the cover of a prog rock album Neptune, were they meet Lum, who is visiting her friend Oyuki.
The women of Neptune are quite happy to see men, and soon put the Stormtroopers to work shovelling snow.
Meanwhile Ataru hits on Oyuki, and so gets a thorough scolding from both Shinobu and Lum. Ataru tries to defend his wandering eye in the most pretentious terms possible before disappearing to try and seduce Oyuki. Oyuki, unlike most women in UY, actually seems happy with Ataru’s attentions, however B-Bo, an abonimable snowman who thinks of Oyuki has his sister is less happy about the whole affair, and ends up chasing him back to Earth.
We finish with the Moroboshi’s returning home to find the army surrounding their house due to B-Bo standing on top of the roof with Ataru in his clutches. They decide to turn around and go back to the hot springs.

In the second story a strange series of events involving a gyrocopter, a pterodactyl shaped hang glider and Ten’s fire breath conspire to send Ataru, Lum, Ten and Kintaro back in time to the age of dinosaurs. It makes no sense, Lum says they must have time slipped due to the explosion, is this a reference to something else? Urashiman involves a timeslip and a crash too, but that was later than this. Is there a common sci-fi origin to this?
Anyway once in the Mesozic era, they lose Ten and have to search for him. Lum finds a tiger striped egg she mistakes for Ten, it hatches and the baby dinosaur thinks Lum is its mother. Ten meanwhile is found by the dinosaur’s mother and returned to the nest.
And Ataru? Well, Ataru has a worryingly curvey dinosaur fall in love with him.
This is entirely his own fault as he first mistakes her sillohette for a sexy cavewoman.
Eventually there is another crash, this time caused by stampeding dinosaurs and another timeslip occurs, this time dumping the cast (and dinosaurs) in the Moroboshi’s home.
THE END!

Oyuki is voiced by another iconic voice actress, Noriko Ohara. Roles include Nobita in Doraemon, Doronjo in Yatterman (both series), Claudia & Narration in Macross, Sabera in Yamato, Conan in Future Boy Conan, Peter in Heidi.
The first story is written by Yuji Ameniya, and this seems to be his only episode. Looks like he worked on Astroganger and the 1976 anime version of Kazuo Umezu’s “Cat Eyed Boy”. Which I wasn’t even aware of. More on that later today!
Storyboard and direction was Mamoru Oshii again, and Hayao Nobe was supplying the animation direction.
The second story was by Yu Yamamoto. Keiji Hayakawa was storyboarding and directing. Once again Asami Endo was the animation director.
