When Ten has a cavity, Ataru teases him until Ten bites him in retaliation. Ataru doesn’t realise that alien cavities are contagious and soon finds himself in a similar situation. In fact it turns out that biting enough people will make an alien cavity go away…
So naturally Ataru tries to bite his classmates, starting with Mendou. But while the class is distracted by that duel, Ten flies in and bites Megane. And soon everyone is biting each other, turning the episode into a dental based zombie story.
Soon Onsen-Mark arrives and tries to talk some sense into the class. So they bite him. The next weirdo to show up is Cherry, who offers to be the subject their bitings, but they’d rather suffer the cavities than put their mouths on a homeless monk. Finally Lum shows up with cavity treatment unit.
But that blows up. So in the end the Headmaster just boards up the classroom and leaves it at that…
Another single escalating idea episode, that has a great script, but some rough execution near the end of the episode. Too many loops for for it to be a great episode and occasional perspective problems.
I wonder if Yuji Moriyama was on this episode, there’s one sequence in the early biting carnage that looks a lot like Project A-Ko’s chases. Also, who is this meant to be, sat next to Hanawa?
Is it a young Oshii? Or someone else?
