OK here’s where I get my Otaku Pass revoked.
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex bored me.
Well at least the first few episodes. I didn’t go any further. I can understand why people like it, but science fiction and me don’t get along that well. And what I’m looking for from anime tends to be a cartoon, rather than a serious science fiction television show. Which is what this felt like. Plus it’s Shirow, and I find his brand of science fiction particularly boring.
It’s around this time that I also began to get turned off of Production IG’s work a little. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but a fair few years I don’t think it was doing for me what Madhouse and Studio 4C were.
